Web Hosting Advise

Hi guys, wanting a little advise. For quite a while now I have been thinking of starting up as a web host. I already design sites so I figured this was the next step to take. After a little research and speaking to others I have come up with what I think are suitable packages - please note these are all still in the planning stage so any comments etc are more then welcome; JamieCressey Media Professional - £22.99 per month Webspace - 50GB Monthly Bandwidth - 200GB FTP Accounts - 100 External Domains - 500 Subdomains - 3000 IMAP\POP accounts - 3000 MySQL Databases - 15 Shared SSL Daily Server Backups JamieCressey Media Business Pro - £12.99 per month Webspace - 10GB Monthly Bandwidth - 100GB FTP Accounts - 75 External Domains - 200 Subdomains - 1500 IMAP\POP accounts - 1500 MySQL Databases - 8 Shared SSL Daily Server Backups JamieCressey Media Business - £8.99 per month Webspace - 5GB Monthly Bandwidth - 40GB FTP Accounts - 10 External Domains - 100 Subdomains - 300 IMAP\POP accounts - 1000 MySQL Databases - 2 Shared SSL JamieCressey Media Home - £4.99 per month Webspace - 1.5GB Monthly Bandwidth - 20GB FTP Accounts - 5 External Domains - 50 Subdomains - 50 IMAP\POP accounts - 400 JamieCressey Media Beginner - £1.99 per month Webspace - 250MB Monthly Bandwidth - 3GB FTP Accounts - 1 External Domains - 20 Subdomains - 5 IMAP\POP accounts - 20 All packages come standard with; Email Autoresponders Mailing Lists Email Forwarders Junk Mail Filters Google Sitemap Generator PHP4&5 Perl Python Miva Sun ASP Ruby CGI Bespoke Control Panel Real Time Activation Server Specification All packages are hosted on: * Dual Quad Core Intel® Xeon® 3.16GHz with 2X6MB Cache * 8 GB RAM * Dual 136 GB SCSI Drive (for the operating system) * RAID Mirroring (for the operating system) * Dual Power Supplies * Dual Gigabit Network Adapters * Redhat Enterprise Linux Platform Network Our network operates on industry-leading network equipment from Cisco Systems. All our switches and routers are developed by Cisco. Our network is based on gigabit technology, which means that it runs at a speed of 1000 Mb per second - most web hosting networks are limited to 100 Mb per second. Our network also utilises 100% CAT6 network cable, which contains four pairs of copper wire and, unlike CAT5, utilises all four pairs. CAT6 supports Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet and supports communications at more than twice the speed of CAT5e, which is the other popular standard for Gigabit Ethernet cabling. Connectivity We operate a multi-homed network utilising BGP4 technology. Simply put, we have multiple connections to the Internet with different backbone providers, should any connection fail our other connections automatically take all the traffic. Not only does this mean that we are very unlikely to lose connectivity to the Internet, but it also means that traffic moving to and from our network can choose from a range of paths to get to its final destination. This means that we have been able to configure the network always to take the fastest paths. Power Dual power feeds enter the building at different points and UPS' ensure that all power to the server area is clean and spike free. In the event of a power outage the UPS can take the entire data centre load for up to five minutes. However within 20 seconds our redundant generators are able to indefinitely take on the entire load. We are proud to boast 98% uptime guarenteed! Support We aim to answer support questions within 4 hours, and often reply faster than that. Having 4 people working a 24/7 rota makes this very feasable. All our engineers are highly experianced guys who's main aim is to resolve problems the first time around. Pricing and Cancellation The price at which you sign up is the price you pay for the duration of your account - guaranteed! No contracts and no minimum terms. Pro-rata refunds are not given for yearly hosting accounts that are cancelled midway through the year. Once the packages and SLA etc have been agreed the site will be encorporated into JamieCressey Media] Hopefully I have been able to answer most of your questions, all and any feedback is welcome! Cheers Jamie
